I absolutely cannot praise the Wellesley (and Clarice) enough for the absolutely outstanding service they provided us on our wedding day, and throughout the whole planning process.
First of all, the Wellesley is such a beautiful and elegant venue. Nothing is required to decorate it. We had the bare minimum flowers and it was amazing. Ten times nicer than the majority of corporate box hotels around Wellington, and better value for money too! Especially considering what you save not having to decorate the place.
Secondly, Clarice. What an asset she is! She goes an extra ten miles to make your day perfect, and is so helpful. she must have replied to about ten million of my emails but she never gets grumpy, she always has a smile on her face, is extremely patient and will take care of everything for you. She really knows what she’s doing, she is personal and professional all at once, and she can pre-empt your every question and your thoughts before you’ve even had them.
The packages are clearly laid out, there are no hidden costs. What you see is what you get, and as I say, very good value for money. All of our guests enjoyed the food, all of the staff were delightful. They made us and our families feel so at home for the whole two days we were there, setting up and packing down. They all met us at the doors with open arms ready to carry things and assist with whatever we needed. They are so flexible, and they did a beautiful job helping us set things up exactly like I wanted. I didn’t have to worry about a thing.
When we arrived back at our room after the long day the staff had even scattered rose petals, laid out flowers, chocolates, chesses and wine for us with a card to say congratulations.
We have vowed to go back there every year on our anniversary to get the most out of that AMAZING bathroom in the honeymoon suite. Anyway I could go on and on but the long and short of the matter is that the Wellesley is the best around, no question. They made the whole day a magical experience for us!
