"Liam and I met in October 2019 on that fabulous app, Tinder. Liam is from Nothern England; he wasn't meant to stay in NZ, but I managed to change his mind. I've been in NZ since 2015 for my career. We got engaged five months after we met. I know it's quick, but I just knew he was "it" from the moment I saw him. Liam always knew I didn't want a fancy engagement as I don't believe in them - I've always wanted something casual. During the first lockdown in April 2020, Liam asked, "Babe, can you do my laundry?" I said, "Yep." "Will you make me tea?" "Yep." "Will you be my wife?" "Yep!" We had a lot of challenges after we got engaged. I, unfortunately, suffered a bad concussion and was off work for over a year. During this time, Liam was my rock. I fell in love with him all over again. When we first got engaged, we planned to marry at The Boatshed. We prepared something very formal: an evening wedding in winter with 70 guests. All the pandemic restrictions forced us to change our dates four times. Two years went by thanks to the restrictions, and Liam and I were no longer excited about our wedding - so we scrapped the whole idea and decided to get married in the bar around the corner from our apartment! We ended up with just 24 guests - just our closest and loveliest friends. It turned out to be everything we'd ever wanted. It was especially great that we found a venue that allowed our dog to be part of it all because she was my flower girl. We want to give a massive shoutout to Choice Bros. This was their first wedding, and they were amazing. The staff went above and beyond to create the image I was thinking of. Also, a huge thank you to Andie Noon. Throughout the entire wedding process, she has always made us feel like we were her only clients; she gave us the exact wedding imagery we imagined."
