Cara and Ross
Foxglove Ballroom

"We met through work. A friend - and later, bridesmaid - worked in two bars, one with Ross and the other with me. It began after a long shift when we took a whirl around the dancefloor, but it took a year before we plucked up enough courage to actually talk to one another. Once we got there, however, it was smooth sailing. Many, many conversations later, we decided we needed a getaway and decided to visit Samoa. As Ross is half Samoan and I had never been, it seemed like the perfect choice. When we arrived, we were swept away by the beauty and culture. We also met so much of his family, connecting with aunts, uncles and cousins - it was an experience like none other, unravelling his heritage together. In our final days there, we decided to indulge in some added luxury with a massage and champagne. Ross invited me out onto the balcony, insisting I take a look at a sea turtle he’d spotted. The next thing I knew, he was on one knee. We wanted a simple, romantic wedding, with a nod to the disco and dance from our Boogie Wonderland days. With our backgrounds in hospitality, hosting a fabulous party for our loved ones was high on our list. It made total sense to hire an expert wedding planner, as it made everything a thousand times easier. With Katie’s help, we got the sparkling wedding day we’d dreamed of, with splashes of elegance and all the fairy lights I could’ve hoped for. Ross and I are pretty busy people, so it made everything all the more special. Since we visited Samoa, Ross’ home, before the wedding, it only made sense to visit Ireland, my home, after the wedding. Family has always been so important to us, and to experience the homes of our ancestors together has left us with fond memories that we will cherish forever."
