A New Way to Throw a Hen's Do
25 October 2016
Hen’s do’s are a right of passage. But what if you aren’t crazy for the pub crawl or vineyard tour with your bridal party in tow? Instead, you just want to relax and do something fun while talking over nice bites and bubbles. I (Mindy, from Twig & Arrow) had been teaching floral workshops for sometime. Then about 2 years ago my lovely industry friend Grace, of Sweet Bakery, contacted me. She wanted to surprise her sister Fran with a flower crown making workshop. Grace secretly planned for me to come and teach a flower crown workshop. It was a huge hit with Fran and her guests. Word spread after that first workshop and I have been happily treating brides to hen’s do workshops ever since!

A couple months ago Sarah McEvoy, the very talented Wellington photographer, and I were contacted by Wellington Weddings. They loved the idea of a special giveaway for a lucky bride and 3 of her besties to join us for a flower crown workshop fully captured by Sarah. We ran the contest and Isme Economu was our lucky winner.
On a bright Sunday afternoon, Isme arrived at my studio in Brooklyn with two gorgeous friends. They were welcomed with chilled Mimosas, french pastries and a table full of seasonal flowers. We spent the next 2 hours making gorgeous crowns and chatting about funny planning stories and how Isme met her man. Then came the moment of truth: the try on. I don’t think any of them knew they would feel so proud or look so beautiful. Sarah captured the moments so artfully and intimately. Isme was given the images as part of the winning package. Sarah captured some truly beautiful moments here. Isme was free of stress and full of excitement and joy for what is to come. The photos that follow are a true testament to what you can get when documenting your wedding journey with a professional photographer.
From the team at Wellington Weddings, Sarah McEvoy, and myself we wish Isme the very best on her upcoming wedding!
